Help Stop SOPA!

Folks,

We haven’t blogged in a while (as we’re still majorly heads down, mostly working on killer new products for your phones), but felt compelled to do SOMETHING about the heated SOPA debates. I’m sure you’ve heard already, but this bill, the way it’s been written, we understand could ruin so so much that we as interwebz users love, cherish, and rely on! The largest networks that we rely on for our daily sanity & livelihood, like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, et al, could be forced to block us from using them at time if SOPA were to pass. Such tight regulations for a majority of content online would ABSOLUTELY upend the internet as we know it, turning a major source of jobs, freedom of speech, open sourcing & innovation in our country into the internet as it’s regulated/”presented” in China or North Korea, as some extreme examples.

What can you do? We’re all uber busy. It starts with just getting the word out and challenging this old guard mindset by leveraging the very medium they want to overthrow. Change your twitter & facebook profile pics to “Stop SOPA” images. See mine for an example: www.twitter.com/antceo.

Here’s a wikipedia article explaining the bill (you won’t be able to read it for 24hrs, starting at 12am EST Weds, 1/18, as Wikipedia is protesting by shutting down for 24hrs):
